IMPORTANT NOTICE - Building Works at Chinmaya Kirti
There are going to be extensive building works taking
place at Chinmaya Kirti starting on the Monday 16th
May and ending sometime in the first week of August.
This will include a Meditation Room and a fully refurbished
Bookshop, among other things.
The builder has indicated that he will be working
Monday - Saturday (8am-6pm) and therefore this will
affect the daytime Saturday classes as well. No work
is scheduled for Sundays.
This means there will be noise, dust, health and safety
issues arising out of this work. All the activities
taking place at CK will therefore be affected, including
the regular classes, including Bal Vihar, Adult, Swaranjali
and Vanaprastha classes.(Monday: Swaranjali; Wednesday:
Vanaprastha; Thursday: Paduka Pooja and Devi Group;
Friday: Adult classes including the new Sanskrit class;
Satruday all classes and evening Hanuman Chalisa;
Sunday all classes and Bal Vihar.
Each facilitator will have to decide whether the class
should continue or not under the circumstances at
the Centre. The evening classes will certainly not
be affected with noise etc and the builders will normally
finish by six pm and have been asked to keep the corridors
clear for access to the toilets. The upstairs rooms
including the main hall, the satsang and dining rooms
will be available for use during this period. Also
it is likely that the noise levels may be higher during
the first few weeks only.
The other option is to have the class at a member's
house for these ten weeks or so. This may be particularly
possible for class members living near the Centre.
Although the advice is to carry on but just take care..
and it is for each class to decide how they want to
proceed.
Please
contact your study class facilitator to determine
the status of your class at Chinmaya Kirti during
this period.
A further update will be sent to inform you of progress
and the status of study classes/activities at Chinmaya
Kirti.
