Swami Chidatmananda visited the U.K. between 23 August and
8 September 2005, to take a Chyk camp and a series of talks.
The
3-day Chyk camp, titled Inspiration Technology, was at a beautiful
venue in Herefordshire, where 70 Chyks spent a blissful weekend
with Swamiji. The talks were based on excerpts from the Mahopanishad
and took the listeners to new levels of understanding. There
were also Meditation sessions, discussion groups, T'ai Chi
classes, outdoor activities, rehearsed musical and dramatic
performances, camp fires, and a special Hari Katha by Brni.
Sumatiji to celebrate Janamashtami. It was a
truly inspiring camp!
Swamiji then took a 7-day series of talks on "Beyond
Suffering", based on the Naishkarmya Siddhi of Sri Suresvaracharya.
The yagna took place at Chinmaya Kirti, the Mission's centre
in the U.K. The profound and meaningful talks attracted audiences
made up of study class attendees, Chyks, and even some newcomers
from the local community. Swamiji explained the essence of
Sri Suresvaracharya's teachings in a clear and systematic
way, with some
eye-opening examples.
The
final talk took place on 7 September, and was followed by
a short puja for Ganesh Chathurthi, and then the Samashti
(final) Bhiksha. During his visit, Swamiji attended study
classes and Bhikshas at various venues, as well as Chyk and
family picnics in Regents Park. It was an uplifting and enjoyable
few weeks for Chinmaya Mission UK.
