| Seven
evening talks on regaining control of those aspects of life
that can be both the greatest source of happiness and the greatest
source of pain. Learn how to manage relationships, wealth, stress
and sorrow. Discover how to manage your inner 'manager' and
live a balanced life. Learn what 'life management' really is.
Understand how the timeless philosophy of the East can be of
practical help in today's time-bound West. Live well. Be
happy. Banish conflicts. |
|
| Question:
What is this freedom you speak of? |
| Swami
Chinmayananda: At this moment, your freedom is to
walk on a marked line. If you don't get your early morning tea,
you are miserable. When I go to the office, everybody must smile
at me. How dangerously balanced are our joys! Thus, we give
our strings to the outside world to pull and make us dance as
it wishes. This is no freedom at all
Freedom from fear
is freedom from everything. It is the first step towards true
knowledge. Only when you are ignorant, you are afraid. |

| 7
principles of Life Management |
1.
True living is that by which others gain life.
2. Equanimity and forbearance comes from holding the attitude:
This too shall pass.
3. Stress has its source in an imagined future, so do your best
and leave the rest.
4. Produce more than you consume, and give more than you take.
5. Don't just imagine your dreams, work for them.
6. Love is the soul's longing for spiritual awakening.
7. Meditation rehabilitates man's broken, tired, weary inner
personality. |
