Chinmaya Mission keeps this culture and tradition of sharing ‘Vidya’ (knowledge) alive in the 21st century; and Chinmaya Mission UK is one of more than 300 global centres that brings the divine, life-affirming knowledge of Vedanta to the modern man.

Globally, Chinmaya Mission trains Brahmacharis (monks) in authentic Indian scriptures, runs ashrams and a range of training and retreat centres. The Mission has a hospital, nursing college, more than 80 schools and colleges to produce spiritually grounded and successful students and runs temples and a music and dance school that enables artists to channel their art into a form of worship of the divine. Chinmaya Mission also runs a government-recognised Sanskrit and Indology research centre at the birthplace of Adi Sankaracharya and publishes thousands of spiritual books. It enables grassroots movements to flourish around the world to spread Indian culture and philosophy to all age groups in an accessible manner, and runs internationally award-winning development programmes to empower poor rural communities to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty.

All activities and yagnas (spiritual discourses) in the UK are organised by Chinmaya Mission UK volunteers (sevaks) thanks to the generosity of public donations and support. Help us in our efforts ‘to give maximum happiness to the maximum number for the maximum time’. There are many ways to contribute as described below.
