Support Gurudev’s vision for a Sanskrit University this Birth Centenary year

1438

Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth in Kerala is slated to commence in the academic year 2016 to 2017 with the aim of making Gurudev's vision a reality.

Support Gurudev's vision for a Sanskrit University this Birth Centenary year
In 1990, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda had envisioned that Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), an existing centre for Sanskrit research and Indology in Kerala, would become an International Sanskrit University. This Birth Centenary year, under the graceful guidance of Swami Tejomayananda, Chinmaya Mission has set as its goal the elevation of CIF as Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, a University dedicated to the ancient wisdom enshrined in Indian knowledge and traditions. A University in the fields of Sanskrit, Indic wisdom and Performing Arts, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth aims to address the needs of current education, management and society. To begin with, Vedanta, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Yoga, Classical Music, Bhartanatyam and Indian theatre are some of the courses that will be offered at the University. To make this lofty and noble vision a reality, Chinmaya Mission has to raise a corpus fund of Rs. 25 crores (US$4.3 million) to gain initial approval from the Indian Government and to be able to start-up. If you would like to support this project, please visit the CIF website, and view this power point presentation to find out more about it. To make a donation within the UK towards this project, please contact suresh@wadhwani.org. Letter from Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda on this project: "Dear All, Hari Om! Greetings from London! While establishing Chinmaya International Foundation, Pujya Gurudev had given certain aims and objectives for it. One of them was having a Sanskrit University. A team of our devoted members have been working at it since some time. The progress is significant in as much as the Government of India is very willing to give approval to establish such a University on fulfillment of certain conditions. One of them is creating a corpus fund of Rs. 25 crores ie, approximately US$ 4.3 million, as approved investments, and the interest from that will have to be applied in operations of the university. I know that this Project is very huge but most valuable as well. I would like to let you know that our Mission members who have got to know about this project are enthusiastic and have come forward whole-heartedly to give their support. Let us all fulfill Pujya Gurudev's wish. Contributions in India may be sent to Chinmaya International Foundation with a mention that the donation is meant for the University Project.
