Chinmaya Kirti Renovation – The Vision
“What you sow, you reap”. In 2020, Chinmaya Mission UK trustees created a vision for the benefit of future generations.
Chinmaya Mission UK has planned a complete renovation of Chinmaya Kirti (our main UK centre in Hendon, London) to meet the growing needs of all of our activities and to build the heart of Chinmaya Mission UK for future generations. Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji once said, “Children are not useless, but are used less.” With this in mind, we see Pujya Gurudev’s vision further unfold and grow with this renovation project.
Chinmaya Kirti has been the focal point of all Chinmaya Mission UK’s activities for the past 16 years where we have seen our numbers and events grow. It is now time to think about further growth and ensure that we have a centre, a home that is fit for the next generation, so they have a place where they can learn, grow, develop and serve.
If you believe in the importance of the work that Chinmaya Mission does in spreading the knowledge advaita vedanta – the vision of oneness – and the need to ensure this is preserved for our children and their children, then we request you to come forward and support this great vision.
The renovation is currently forecasted to cost £1.5m and will start in 2021. It is expected to take 14 months, after which the centre will have an expanded main hall to participate in events. There will be more class-rooms on the first floor, a dedicated prayer room and new bookshop and living quarters for resident teachers, a conference room on a new second floor.
