11th June 2021The Bhagavad Gītā, a timeless spiritual classic, is a profound dialogue between Śrī Krishna and the warrior-prince Arjuna. Set in the heart of the Mahābhārata, it addresses the universal challenges of life, duty (dharma), and self-realization (ātmajñāna). Central to the Vedānta tradition. the Gītā reveals the nature of reality and the path to mokṣa (liberation). It explains the paths of bhakti (devotion), jñāna (knowledge), karma (selfless action), and rāja (meditation) yoga, providing seekers with a way to spiritual growth based on their guṇas and karmic tendencies.
In today’s fast-paced world, the Gītā remains as relevant as ever, offering practical wisdom on facing life’s challenges with clarity, equipoise, and inner peace. It provides insights into managing stress, making ethical decisions, and living with purpose and alignment.
This class is for those in the CSK age group (28 + years) who wish to study the Gītā verse by verse, discussing its practical applications through Swami Chinmayananda’s Advaitic commentary, with reference to others. Open to anyone eager to deepen their spiritual practice, apply ancient wisdom to modern life, or explore the teachings of the Bhagavad Gītā for Self unfoldment and growth.
We will be reading from Swami Chinmayananda’s commentary, available at the Chinmaya UK bookshop or on Amazon.
