Manah Shodhanam
26th November 2022Tattvabodha
10th December 2022Bhaja Govindam is rightly described as a fragrant bouquet of verses. It is a brilliant composition compassionately offered by the masterful Adi Shankaracharya, an inspired and dynamic saint from the 7th and 8th century AD.
Written some 1,200 years ago Bhaja Govindam has since consistently inspired through the centuries and remains incredibly relevant today. It makes us wonder about life; our own life as well as life as a whole. Our life is wonderful but also fragile and temporary. So what is true gain in life? Am I living a meaningful life? Do I want to? Am I using my life fully? Am I clear on my goal or am I stuck on certain worldly means of living?
Am I looking at my life as a whole? Am I focussed just on my work but not my family, or just my family but not my spiritual growth? Do I develop myself just physically in the gym? How about my emotions, how about my ideas? and what of my spiritual development? Am I equipped to face life? What are my tools for facing difficulties that may come in life?
You are invited to join this class with other like minded individuals in reflecting on these and other questions. The class will unfold the layers of meaning Shankaracharya has placed in the poem that is Bhaja Govindam. It is an opportunity for each one to be encouraged on our journey of life while reflecting on the questions that may have been bothering us as well as questions we may not even have thought of yet.
While encouraging reflection, Bhaja Govindam also offers an introduction to those who are new to studying Vedanta. We look forward to welcoming you to this class starting 14 October 2024. Details are on the attached flyer.
