Guidance for attending Chinmaya Mission UK events and study classes
In light of the increasing seriousness of the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), please be advised that some events on the key dates calendar on our website have now been cancelled.
Our events calendar is being closely monitored. If we receive guidance that additional events need to be cancelled or postponed, we will do so and alert all members via email and social media.
Please note that Chinmaya Kirti will now remain closed until further notice. Any study classes that would normally take place at Chinmaya Kirti can continue online. Take a look at our schedule of online classes and please reach out to your class facilitators for further updates if you have any queries regarding your study class.
The Leicester Monthly Bhagavad Geeta Class has been cancelled until further notice.
The Chinmaya Vani bookshop at the Bhavan will remain closed at least until 18th April 2020.
In the meantime, please follow the Coronavirus guidance shared below.
- If you have arrived from a COVID-19 Specified Country in the last 14 days, please do not attend and follow guidance on self-isolation.
- If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (coughing, difficulty in breathing and/or fever) or if you think you may have come into contact with the virus or an affected person, please do not attend and follow guidance on self-isolation. Please DO NOT RISK infecting others; stay home for the safety of other vulnerable persons.
- If you are in a high-risk group (elderly, asthmatic, immuno-compromised) you should consider not attending.
- Please follow hand-washing protocols regularly throughout the day and especially before entering the class or event venue. In addition to handwashing, please use the hand sanitizers provided.
- Sneezing and coughing are not always avoidable. However, in order to prevent the potential spread of viruses, please cover your mouth with a tissue or cough/sneeze into your elbow rather than your hands. Please dispose of used tissues promptly and hygienically.
- Finally, please remember to avoid hugging and shaking hands. Namaste is polite and hygienic!
Please keep informed of the latest situation via the .GOV website.
