Cultivating Resilience
15th April 2024Enrol for VEDANTA SADHAKA COURSE
15th April 2024Chinmaya Mission UK was blessed to have Swamini Supriyananda from Hong Kong visit from 23 March to 2 April 2024. Recognised globally as an eminent storyteller, Swaminiji imparted invaluable wisdom on spirituality, self mastery and its practical application for all ages during her recent tour.
Our Chinmaya Mission pledge says to ‘give more than what we receive’, and Swaminiji’s time, love and inspiration during this trip encapsulated this perfectly. From book readings to workshops and camps, here’s an overview of all that Swaminiji blessed our little ones with!
Krishna my Best Friend - Balavihar Workshop
There’s no doubt that Lord Krishna holds a special place in most of our hearts, and Swaminiji brought this to life through an interactive workshop full of stories and games for children. She explored the tales of Lord Krishna’s Butter Bash, His adventures with the gopis and the invaluable wisdom Lord Krishna imparts for us all. Children were fully immersed and the session transported them all to the abode of Lord Krishna in Vrindavan.
Parents also had the opportunity to explore the power of spirituality with a session by Brahmacharini Shripriya Chaitanya on the ‘Spiritual Approaches to Modern Day Parenting’. The session shone a light on how spirituality can be an anchor through the journey of parenting, act as a useful tool to deal with challenging situations and ensure children are brought up with positive values and virtues.
LEAP Family Camp
This Easter weekend, families had the opportunity to revel in the greatness of Lord Hanuman. Through inspiring classes and activities, over 100 attendees learnt how to embody Hanumanji to LEAP forward to even greater success.
Renowned for eliminating the tribulations of those who surrender to Him, and bring peace and happiness to all, Swaminiji and Shripriyaji guided us on a journey to illustrate how Lord Hanuman is the epitome of selfless service and represents incomparable physical prowess paired with the utmost love for Bhagwan.
Tailored classes spanning from Shishu Vihar to adults, captivating storytelling sessions with Swaminiji, and lively family games provided an avenue for all ages to deepen their devotion, strengthen familial bonds, and, most importantly, delve into our scriptures to recognise the divinity within each of us. As Swaminiji put it,
“We don’t sometimes realise how precious something is. The Vedas that have taught us that you are divine. Look at how that thinking would change our whole society. The only way our culture will live, is if we have that mind frame. Our scriptures, can only live when it is in us.”
